{"id":4936,"date":"2012-08-23T09:00:09","date_gmt":"2012-08-23T09:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/currentsound.com\/copy-of-creating-some-magic-in-the-studio-with-miriam-margolyes-from-harry-potter\/"},"modified":"2019-07-28T06:49:19","modified_gmt":"2019-07-28T06:49:19","slug":"runsquadep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/currentsound.com\/recording-session\/runsquadep\/","title":{"rendered":"Our mastered EP for RunSquad is now out on NY record label System Recordings."},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"modal-ready\">\n<p><em>Note: This mastering session took place in Australia before Current Sound relocated to Hollywood, Los Angeles.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The act RunSquad consists of two electronic music producers from Adelaide, South Australia, Marc Withersea and Sammy Brett. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Previous Clients of Current Sound<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Marc Withersea and producer, mix and mastering engineer Tom Watson at Current Sound already knew each other. Interestingly enough, Marc started learning piano\/synth and production with Tom Watson at Current Sound after being a fan on Open Your Eyes by Transparent which was written, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Tom Watson at Current Sound. The song hit number 1 on Fresh Fm&#8217;s international chart show in 2006. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marc and Sammy Brett have been producing tracks together for some time now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Label Interest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>System Recordings (NY label) became interested in a song produced by RunSquad, &#8216;Never Cry Again&#8217;. It was the first time RunSquad had been approached by a label so to say there were excited was an understatement. The song at the time was unmastered. System Recordings said they liked the song but they though the final mix and master wasn&#8217;t up to scratch. Sothey asked RunSquad they had someone they wanted to use for mastering and RunSquad chose Tom Watson at Current Sound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We gave RunSquad mixing tips and production suggestions prior to mastering their final mix of the song. RunSquad and System Recordings were both very happy with our masters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Label Signing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>System Recordings, signed and released our mastered version of Never Cry Again. System Recordings has since signed another 2 songs from RunSquad to its label which we also mastered at Current Sound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funny names<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Marc came up with the name Manzini for one of the new songs and chose the name for the EP.
